WE ARE —

A REVOLUTIONARY ORGANIZATION

A STUDY GROUP

A COLLECTIVE OF ACTIVISTS, ARTISTS, AND THINKERS

A COMMUNITY

ANGRY, GRIEVING, RADICAL

BUILDING A NEW WORLD

“If we do not dare everything, the fulfillment of prophecy, recreated from the bible in song by a slave, is upon us: God gave Noah the rainbow sign, No more water, the fire next time!”

- James Baldwin

IGNITE…

Was founded in 2020 in response to the extra-legal murders of unarmed black people — at the hands of the police and law enforcement agencies — across the country. Created with the ethos of art and non-violent direct action as a means of resistance, our mission is simple:

Educate. Organize. Act. Disrupt.

We are currently selling stickers, prints, and other items, 100% of the proceeds of which go directly towards mutual aid funds in the DC Metropolitan area. We are also engaging our community through reading groups, protests, and political education.

We understand that activism is mercurial, ever-changing, and prefigurative. We understand that resistance to state violence takes many forms, occupies many positions, and can operate in many different ways.

Building on this understanding, and on the historical resonance of the Black, Queer, and Indigenous Radical Traditions, we are a collective of friends and strangers fighting for another World.
